Often, the most current news on the law of international maritime piracy can be found on the various websites of international organizations. While there are many of these organizations, the below are the most useful and important.

  - Special tribunal described in great detail here.

  - IMB publishes best management practices guidelines to counter piracy (updated as of 6/29/10)
    - This item is a PDF which can be downloaded for free, and lists other relevant organizations.

  - Norfolk Branch, Va - very timely since Virginia is where the latest piracy attacks were brought to trial in the United States.

  - Very informative and links out to IMO and other relevant websites.
- US Maritime Administration (MARAD)
  - Piracy is listed as a "hot topic"
  - Links out to documents containing counter piracy measures, statistics and other links.

- International Chamber of Shipping, International Shipping Federation
  - Has an inter-industry piracy petition that can be signed.
  - Links out to Best Management Practices with regard to dealing with piracy.
