How Do I Find News?

The New York Times: United States Constitution

BLS students, faculty and staff can register for access to NYTimes.com. To register, click here, enter Brooklyn Law School in the search box. and follow the instructions to create an account.  For your initial registration, you must either be on campus or go through Brooklyn Law School's proxy server (see Proxy Server Instructions) AND you must use your brooklaw.edu email account to register.  Once you have registered, you can use your login name and password to access the site from anywhere.  Each year you will need to login from on-campus or using the proxy server in order to keep your access active. 

The Washington Post: Politics

BLS students, faculty and staff have campus-wide access to WashingtonPost.com while connected to Brooklyn Law School’s wireless network, while using computers in BLS Library’s computer labs, or while off campus using a web browser that communicates with the BLS proxy server.

HeinOnline: Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases - "Provides comprehensive expert analysis of all cases granted certiorari before the Supreme Court prior to the arguments"

Westlaw Bulletin: U.S. Supreme Court - Provides up-to-date bulletins and topical highlights.

  • Law.com aggregates news stories from ALM publications such as: The American Lawyer; Legal Week; National Law Journal; New Jersey Law Journal; New York Law Journal; and The Recorder.  Law.com news stories are accessible on campus, in BLS housing, and elsewhere off campus if one has implemented the proxy server instructions.
