Indigenous Peoples’ Journal of Law, Culture & Resistance (current issue + additional issues) @ UCLA School of Law

  • 2024 Symposium: Red Rising: The Shifting Legal Landscape of Tribal Sovereignty (Feb. 8-9, 2024 at the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center). The symposium hosts will be Profs. Angela R. Riley (Citizen Potawatomi) and Lauren van Schilfgaarde (Cochiti Pueblo), in collaboration with the Indigenous Peoples’ Journal of Law, Culture, and Resistance, the Native Nations Law and Policy Center, and UCLA Law Review. 
    • Nov. 19, 2023: A Symposium Editor replied to a BLS librarian: "We are planning to both livestream and record the symposium. Please keep an eye out for future communications regarding the symposium to learn about accessing streams or recordings."   
  • Note: UCLA American Indian Studies Center also publishes the open access periodical: American Indian Culture and Research Journal.

Tribal Law Journal @ University of New Mexico School of Law

  • This journal states it "provides native peoples, practitioners, and law students an opportunity to contribute their work to the discussion relating to internal indigenous law. Contributions include, but are not limited to, tribal court case comments, reflections on tribal systems, the development of tribal law, the value of tribal law, interviews, and teachings."
  • Tribal Law Journal 2023 Symposium: 200 Years Since Johnson v. M'Intosh: The Case’s Impact on Native Communities and Tribal Governments (date was: Nov. 9, 2023).  BLS librarians are investigating whether researchers can register to access a recording of this virtual symposium.
