sara.brooklaw.edu

BLS Library's online catalog is named SARA in honor of Professor Sara Robbins who was Library Director from 1984 to 2006.

How to Leverage BLS Library's SARA Catalog

SEARCH SARA CATALOG by keyword(s) or use the pull-down menu to search by title, author, subject or call number.

SEARCH SARA CATALOG + MANY DATABASES CONTAINING ARTICLES through tab: ONESEARCH.

Tip: Search results will include ebooks provided by EBSCO and EBC and articles in subscription databases such as HeinOnline,  Academic/Business Search Premier and ProQuest.

VIEW BLS LIBRARY'S RECENT ACQUISITIONS through SARA CATALOG tab: NEW BOOK LIST.

Tip: Each month, faculty also receive an email highlighting BLS Library's new acquisitions.

REQUEST BLS LIBRARY'S PRINT SOURCES through tab: FACULTY BOOK REQUEST.

VIEW SOURCES PLACED ON COURSE RESERVE BY FACULTY through link: COURSE RESERVES.

VIEW BLS LIBRARY'S EJOURNAL HOLDINGS through tab: FIND A SOURCE.

Tip: Enter: title of a journal (example: International Journal of Refugee Law).  Either click: suggested title or click: Search to view database links to the journal and dates of coverage for the journal.

VIEW HOLDINGS OF THOUSANDS OF RESEARCH LIBRARIES through tab: WORLDCAT.

If BLS Library does not have a desired source, a BLS faculty member can:

PLACE AN INTERLIBRARY LOAN REQUEST through tab: ILL.

  • Enter your BLS username (firstname.lastname) and password.
  • Click: Create Request
  • Complete a request form (choose: Article, Book or Other).
  • After placing an interlibrary loan request, please monitor both your BLS Outlook "In" box and "Clutter" folder for future email updates about the request.  Feel free to contact ill@brooklaw.edu to check the status of a request.
  • Copies of articles and book chapters often arrive within 1-3 business days of placing a request.  (Material arrives more quickly if a lender can fill an interlibrary loan request electronically.)  Books can take longer to receive from a lender.
  • If a faculty member has an immediate need for a source, please email askthelibrary@brooklaw.edu or ask your librarian liaison for help.
  • This guide tab describes BLS Library's document delivery services for faculty.
