Faculty Guide: Obtain Publication & Repository Support

A guide to BLS Library's services, contacts & key resources.

BrooklynWorks

The BLS repository, BrooklynWorks, offers global access to BLS faculty scholarship and to the four student-edited BLS Law Journals.

BLS Library will post in BrooklynWorks:

  • Faculty scholarship available through HeinOnline
  • Faculty scholarship shared with BLS Library when the author retained the right to post in our institutional repository (BePress Digital Commons).

BLS Library regularly checks for new faculty publications; we also encourage professors to “Update your Faculty Information” through BLSConnect (see box: Faculty Updates).

SSRN

If a BLS faculty member would like to submit a paper to SSRN, please contact Spencer Province at spencer.province@brooklaw.edu and:

  • Provide an abstract and keywords to increase discoverability
  • State whether the material is an accepted paper or a working paper
  • Identify other journal classifications you would like to designate

Scholastica

BLS has a Scholastica institutional account (for electronic submission of manuscripts to scholarly legal journals).  BLS full-time faculty will receive an invitation to set up an individual account to submit through the BLS institutional account.

Research Assistant Support

BLS librarians offer an initial research assistant training session at the beginning of the summer.

Librarian liaisons also can provide specialized research training to faculty research assistants.
