Brooklyn Law School Library: Library Overview

Welcome to the Library

Brooklyn Law School Library is located at 250 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, New York 11201.  The main entrance to the library is on the first floor of the law school building.  The library is located on six levels and maintains a collection of over 400,000 volumes in print, microform, and e-book format, as well as a wealth of research databases.  The library is staffed by librarians, additional professionals, and law school students.

When are BLS Law School and BLS Library (250 Joralemon Street) generally open for student use?

Generally, during the year:  BLS students have access to the 250 Joralemon Street building and to BLS Library from 7am–midnight. 

During reading period, finals & the two weeks before the bar exam in July:  BLS students have access to the 250 Joralemon Street building and to BLS Library from 7am–2am.

When does BLS Library staff its Circulation Desk?

During the Fall & Spring semesters:

  • M-Th: 8am-midnight
  • F: 8am-10pm

  • Sat & Sun: 10am-10pm

Summer Hours:

  • M-Th: 9am-10pm 
  • F-Sun: 10am-6pm

During reading period & finals:

  • M-Th: 8am-midnight

  • F: 8am-10pm

  •  Sat: 9am-10pm

  •  Sun: 10am-midnight

Bar Study (Beginning July 5 through first day of Bar Exam):

  • M-Sun: 9am-midnight
