Library Supported Technology: Troubleshooting

This guide provides instructions and information about the hardware, software and platforms managed by the Library.

Locked Account

A BLS account will automatically lock after five incorrect login attempts to email, BLSConnect, lab computers, printing release stations, or WiFi.

If you get locked out of your account, you have two options:

  1. Wait 30 minutes for your account to unlock
  2. Go to https://reset.brooklaw.edu to reset your password (you will need your BLS ID)

If you get locked out of your account on a personal device, you may lose access to WiFi through bls-secure and you will not be able to log into a lab computer using your BLS credentials. If you need immediate access to your account, there is a public access computer on the ground floor by the circulation desk that does not require a login -- you can use it to reset your password using the link above, or to send a ticket to IT for additional assistance. Alternatively, you can ask the circulation desk for the guest WiFi password.

REMEMBER! If you do reset your password, you must update the following to avoid being locked out again:

  • Keychain (for Mac users)
  • WiFi settings
  • Outlook and Microsoft apps
  • Saved browser passwords

If you continue to have issues after following these steps, please reach out to IT at support@brooklaw.edu. (You can do this from your personal email!)
